(This is my first article in English. Hopefully who read this can help me to improve my English. Most importantly, the outcome can reach to You!)
This topic I get from presentation by Jonathan Wilson, Senior Lecturer and Course Leader; Advertising and Marketing Communications Management, Business School at University of Greenwich. Everybody know that it is important to make a Branding for your products and market the products to people. It will be special if the Branding is very unique than other products in Market. But, before we enter, we must know two things that is very important to consider for marketing and branding. There are; Demand and Market Opportunities.
As we know that Demand is very important to know that people are demanding the products. It is very risky for the company if they just want to market their products without know about their potential market and customer. For Market Opportunities, we must know what we can take an advantage in the market that have many of competitors and challenges among other products. So, as Muslim entrepreneurs that want to be a successful in marketing, we must have OUR OWN Branding of products. Islam is our branding. It is Unique and right now, all over world know that this Branding are spreading to many countries.
Campaign Asia: “When we say ‘Islamic’ or ‘Muslim’ brand, we mean that it’s a brand based on the ethics and values of Islam, in order to communicate to the Muslim community that this brand adheres to the code you live your life by, therefore associating with this brand would benefit you,” says Joy Abdullah, a director at business and brand marketing consultancy Daily Baraka.
Jonathan Wilson described Islamic Branding to two important points; First– a school of thought which draws from the Quran and supporting texts, Second– an Islamic approach considered by Muslims to be the best way forward. All over in Branding industries, Islam is very special. We know from Joy Abdullah that the brand must based on the ethics and values of Islam, and this our uniques are. What Jonathan Wilson want to explain to us is that our Islamic Branding can move forward and can go much further from other brands.
In Islam, we do not looking for money as main reason. But what we want is our values and ethics is to be known and be practice by other Muslim and non-Muslim all over the world. So, faith become important. Like an ‘Iman’. Then, we can call this also as a Da’wah. Yes, to spread our truth believe in Islam, that in many years before have been exploit by other people to scratch our identity.
Our branding objective is more than ‘meat and money’. It is something not just for Muslims. We can say that all over the world are accepting Muslims product such as Herba Perubatan Al-Wahida (HPA) that already in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and many more. Our Halal certification in foods and beverages can guarantee our body is still healthy. This is our brands. This is Muslim entrepreneur can move forward. Remember this, we have about 1.8 Billion Muslims all over the world and 52.5% from this are under 24 years old. We have a power to change the world. Economic power that have been conquered by non-Muslim so many years. Now, we have our brands, and our brands can break the chain with supporters from other Muslims.
Now, it is time to use and spread our Brands!
